On Monday, the Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee, the campaign arm of statehouse Democrats, announced they had raised more than $10 million this cycle so far.
More than $4.5 million has been raised in the past month, according to HDCC.
“When we launched this effort to win the House more than a year ago, we knew having well-funded campaigns was key to our prospects for success,” said HDCC Chairwoman Celia Israel in a prepared statement. “We are proud to support our strong Democratic candidates, grateful to the thousands of donors who have made this possible, and excited for next Tuesday when the voters will elect a Democratic House majority.”
More than 3,4000 donors contributed to the fundraising haul with the average donation at 43 dollars.
Democrats need nine seats to capture a majority in the statehouse. Reform Austin News estimates Democrats are poised to gain eleven statehouse seats if current polling continues into Election Day.
