Sima Ladjevardian raises $1.5 million in latest fundraising quarter

by | Oct 6, 2020 | 2020 Elections, Politics

Democratic congressional candidate Sima Ladjevardian reported raising $1.5 million in the latest fundraising quarter, totaling $3 million for the entire cycle.

She is running a corporate PAC free campaign against Rep. Dan Crenshaw in Texas’ 2nd congressional district in Houston.

The Republican freshman boasted a $5.5 million fundraising haul for the third quarter. Last quarter, he was the number one congressional Republican fundraiser in Texas.

Despite his lead in cash, Crenshaw has found himself on the defensive on the campaign trail recently as Ladjevardian hones in on his history of careless comments surrounding COVID-19.

Last week, Ladjevardian made a seven-figure TV ad buy in Houston attacking Crenshaw for falsely claiming masks do not help prevent the transmission of coronavirus.

The Intercept recently published a good breakdown of how Crenshaw’s rhetoric over the outbreak has put his seat at risk.

No polling has been released for the district.
