Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that among his reasons to oppose universal background checks is has to do with his friends.
Crenshaw was responding to a story about a woman using a handgun to defend herself against five would-be robbers.
But Crenshaw’s comments led to a backlash, including from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wrote on Wednesday:
