by | Oct 2, 2020 | 2020 Elections, Voting

If you haven’t registered to vote yet, be sure to do so and keep in mind that Monday, October 5, is the deadline.

You are eligible to register to vote if:

  • You are a United States citizen;
  • You are a resident of the county where you submit the application;
  • You are at least 17 years and 10 months old, and you are 18 years of age on
    Election Day.
  • You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
  • You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

You can register to vote in person or by mail. If you wish to register in person, October 5 is the last day to do so. Contact your local voter registration official to find out where to register in person.

If you wish to register by mail, you can access the application form online here. You must fill out the information, print it, sign it, and mail it to your county election office. The form must be postmarked by October 5.

Online voter registration is not available in Texas unless it is done while updating your driver’s license.

If you are unsure of whether you are already registered, you can find out here

This is the most important election of our lifetimes and it’s especially important to exercise your right to vote now that Texas is in play for the first time in decades. Every vote counts and please make sure that your voice is heard.
