Three former presidential candidates are slated to attend the 2020 Texas Democratic Convention as guest speakers.
Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Obama-era housing chief Julián Castro will speak at the week-long virtual convention on June 1.
On Tuesday, Texas Democrats announced House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will also headline the event.
The convention, which Texas Democrats are calling the biggest virtual state convention in the country, will also be an opportunity for members to vote on party platform and leadership.
“Warren, Harris, and Castro are bold leaders who champion a progressive future for our country,” said Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa in a statement. “Their hard work and leadership as elected officials and former presidential candidates pushed our party and our country forward, and we are thrilled that they will be joining us at our convention.”
