The Sylvester Turner campaign unveiled on Wednesday its first campaign ad, titled “Soul of a City.” The ad positions Turner as an effective crisis manager during Hurricane Harvey.

“This ad shows how Mayor Turner stepped up at a time of crisis and showed the world that Houstonians may be knocked down but not defeated,” said Turner campaign manager Jake Burns in a statement.  “As the Mayor sayswhen we work together and when we don’t allow our differences to separate us, we win.

The ad airs on broadcast and cable TV.

Turner’s opponents include conservatives Bill King and Tony Buzbee. The election is November 5.
