Democrats outraise GOP incumbents in competitive congressional races

The latest fundraising reports show congressional Democrat candidates are outraising Republican incumbents in competitive congressional races across the Lone Star State.

Democrats outraised Republicans in nine out of ten congressional districts being targeted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the campaign arm of House democrats.

Republicans maintain a remaining cash on hand advantage in four of those nine races. 

Former Texas Senator Wendy Davis was once again the top Democrat fundraiser among the battleground districts, raising $3.4 million to Rep. Chip Roy’s $1.6 million.

In the three congressional races where retiring Republicans incumbents have left open seats, Democrats Sri Preston Kulkarni, Gina Ortiz Jones, and Candace Valenzuela all outraised and held more cash at the end of the fundraising period than their Republican opponents.
