Democratic ad buys continue in key Texas congressional swing races

Gina Ortiz Jones, a congressional Democratic candidate running in one of Texas’ most competitive races, has released her second TV ad.

“As a veteran, I’m for strong national security, a first-class education system that invests in teachers, and more vocational training,” Jones says in the ad.

The second ad buy comes only 10 days Jones aired her first TV ad, “my story,” highlighting her San Antonio roots and Air Force service.

Her latest six-figure ad buy comes as other Texas candidates have sunk money into their own TV ads too.

Earlier this week, Republican Rep. Chip Roy’s Democratic opponent Wendy Davis launched her first TV ad. Likewise, House Democrats pumped half a million dollars into Houston area tv ads this week. And earlier this month, Joe Biden announced the largest ad buy ever by a presidential candidate, planning $220 million in fall TV ads across multiple swing states, including Texas.

Despite the investment, Donald Trump continues to outspend Biden in Texas, a clear sign that the incumbent president fears losing the Lone Star State in November.
