Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke took to Twitter on Sunday to urge Joe Biden to visit Texas.
“Texas could win this for Biden and end the nightmare on election night,” O’Rourke wrote. “Texans are doing their part. We’d sure like to see @JoeBiden visit us and spend more resources here.”
More than 4 million Texans have voted as of Sunday, both in-person and through mail ballots. Many large metro counties, like Harris and Dallas, have already surpassed early vote turnout records from 2016.
O’Rourke has helped boost some of that turnout with his voter registration group, Powered by People, which aims to make 15 million calls to voters before Election Day.
Other Democrats, like Texas Democrat Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa, have also pressured Biden to visit Texas.
The last time Biden visited Texas was during the primaries.
Earlier this month, the Biden campaign announced it would be spending $6 million on TV ads in the state. Last week, Jill Biden visited Texas to promote early voting and meet with Democrats on the ballot.
The last day of early voting is Friday, October 30, 2020.
