Texas Signal is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP). Every two weeks we will feature a new piece from TCRP exclusively on Texas Signal. These bi-weekly columns will focus on voting and election-related bills facing the Texas legislature.
The Texas Civil Rights Project is at the forefront of fighting against voter suppression, a major priority in this current legislature. Our first installment in this new series is from James Slattery, a senior staff attorney for the Voting Rights Program at TCRP. Slattery was on hand at the Texas State Capitol as hearings were supposed to take place on Senate and House bills targeting voting rights.
